Field Trip!!!

We are going on a Field trip!!
Thursday October 7th we are going to Paugh’s Apple Orchid. Each child needs to pay $4.00 by Oct. 4th. They will receive half a peck of apples, a pumpkin and a tour of the orchard.
All parents are welcome! I need parent volunteers to drive other students in case their parents cannot make it. All students (3’s &4’s) need to be at Reformation by 9:00. We will be leaving by 9:30. We will have a snack there around 11. We should be back to Reformation around 12:00.

Thank You,

Chrysanthemum

We are starting to recognize our names. Today we read the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. We made mice to work on our cutting skill and graphed our names. Two students want to share information about the book.

Calling all mystery Readers!!

CALLING ALL MYSTERY READERS!
I would like to invite any parents, older siblings, grandparents, relatives, or other special people to surprise your child by being a “Mystery Reader” this year in our classroom. Students LOVE having their family, friends, and relatives visit our classroom to share in our learning by reading a favorite story aloud to our class. Mystery Readers will visit us on Fridays at 1:45 p.m. Each week for the 4 years old and Thursday at 11:15 for the 3 years old. Readers are asked to bring a book to read or read a teacher-chosen book from our classroom library.
If you can find a date that works for you, please sign up to be a Mystery Reader for the 2010-2011 school year! There are many open dates to choose from throughout the year.
Included with this note is a list of dates that are available.
Please indicate at least two dates (if possible) that will work for you so that I can accommodate the most people. You can either email me your preferred dates or send your top three choices in a “top secret” envelope to school with your child. I will get back to you as soon as I can to confirm your official Mystery Reader date.
Please see me or drop me a “secret” note if you have any further questions. We can’t wait to meet our 2010-2011 Mystery Readers!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bowman

Star Students for Preschool ONLY

Star Student

Monday: Share Sack
Students have a week to collect special items from home and bring it back to share with classmates on Monday.

Monday: Favorite Book: The star student brings one of his or her books to class. I will read the book aloud to the class.

Wednesday: Parent Letter: Parents will write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from the following ideas: Describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character.

Wednesday: Lunch Buddy: If possible, join your child in the social hall for a special lunch on this day. You may also choose to invite a sibling or a favorite relative to be your child’s lunch buddy. You can have the buddy be a surprise or let your child know ahead of time. If you are unable to make it during our lunch period (12:00-12:30), please let me know, and I will plan a special lunch for your child.

Friday: Star Recognition: The star student will be recognized by his or her classmates and presented with pictures and kind words or encouragement.

The first Star Student is Sadie Sept. 20-24!
